Thurso Swifts vs Staxigoe

I caught some of the Swifts vs Staxigoe game at the Dammies tonight. Half time was 2-1 to Swifts and then it poured with rain throughout the second half. The Swifts were leading 3-2 with 20 mins left and were totally dominant in the first 20 mins of the second half (3-1 up at one stage, but gave away a penalty - see last pic).

Lots of controversy with flagged offsides not being given for two goals (one for each side).

Canisbay Show

There were over 100 horses and ponies at the Canisbay Show and the classes were huge. One had 15 in it. The show venue has changed and the rings are much bigger than in previous years.

I arrived fairly late on, so didn't get as many pics as normal. Alasdair Matheson won the ridden and Sarah Sutherland won the in hand. Not sure who won the supreme.

Caithness MotoX round 3

Round 3 of the Caithness Motocross racing series was held in really dry conditions for a change. First time I have attended with so much dust and dirt flying around. Still trying to clean my camera!

James Ross won the seniors races by just pipping Kyle Mackie, Rikki Cormack the schoolboys 125cc, Morgan Robertson the 85cc and Troy Anderson the 65cc. 

The Outer Hebrides

Last weekend I visited the Outer Hebrides for the very first time. Was on the islands of North Uist, Benbecula, South Uist, Eriskay, Barra and Vatersay. Was lucky with the weather - it poured with rain the day after I left!

The ferry fares from the mainland to the Islands are half price just now, so worth considering if looking for a quiet holiday.
