Wick Groats beat Pentland Utd 3-1 in the final of the Eain Mackintosh Memorial Cup final at sunny Halkirk today and in front of a huge crowd. The pitch was very soft, but playable and no rain fell during the match.
Sandy Sutherland opened the scoring late in the first half. James Murray equalised early in the 2nd, but Sandy made it 2-1 within a minute. Stewart Ross scored a wonder goal with a 30 yard shot over Michael Gray. Pentland Utd had the better chances in the 2nd half, but could not beat Graeme Williamson. Luckasz Geruzel hit the post late on with a header.
