Peugeot CRZ sports car pics

Some pics of Lorraine's very smart Peugeot CRZ sports car - taken last Sunday at a local quarry.  A fair bit of processing was done in Photoshop! The white suits a conversion to B&W.

Photo Award Success

I'm delighted to learn that I have won the 2010 Sport - Ball Games Photographer of the Year award, issued by The Societies, a group of 8 worldwide photographic societies that include the Society of International Sport & Leisure Photographers, of which I'm a member.

I won it with my pic taken at the Scotland vs England Six Nations Championship match in March 2010.  I was also a runner up in the general sports category with my cycling pic taken at the Caithness Cycling Club's annual racing weekend.  Both feature in a book that shows all of the 200 shortlisted photos from the 34 categories.  There were over 18,000 entries submitted.

I could not attend the awards dinner in London and the glass trophy arrived in the post today.

Halkirk Christmas Lights

The Halkirk Christmas lights taken just after sunset this afternoon when the sky is a nice dark blue colour for a few minutes.

New car

My Audi A6 decided to give up the ghost a few weeks ago and its replacement is a Corsa 1.2SXi, which Jillian will learn to drive in, over the spring/summer.

I took some pics of it this afternoon and used my two speedlites.  I tried to use the shoot-through umbrellas to soften the light, but they kept falling over due to the very light wind.  It is very difficult to avoid reflections and bright spots due to the lights.
